Federated Insurance can be traced all the way back to 1890, when a group of farm implement dealers in Minnesota formed an association to reduce their insurance costs. About 30 years later, in 1920, the company’s Canadian division was born, and our focus on serving Canadians with the highest level of customer service hasn’t wavered since. The company became 100% Canadian owned and operated by 1990 when it was purchased by Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd.
